The Fredonia Christmas Pageant is a beloved tradition, dating back to 1934. The Pageant has continued uninterrupted since except for a snowstorm cancellation in 1973, and a bomb threat in 1981 which caused a premature end to the Pageant. In recent years, the Pageant was postponed several times due to bad weather or a large number of illnesses. The Pageant was then held after the first of the New Year. The 87th Pageant in 2020 was held virtually due to COVID-19 protocols. Due to a challenge by the ACLU, since 1992 the Pageant has been named "The Annual Community Christmas Pageant" and is sponsored by Fredonia Lions Club, Fredonia For Youth Club, and the Fredonia Rotary Club.
The museum has a nearly complete set of Pageant programs and you can access them below. We are missing programs for 1934, 1937, and 1950. We'd love to have a complete set! Thanks for keeping an eye out for these when you are cleaning our grandma's (or your) stuff!
